We woke up around 7 on Sunday morning with plans to hit the road by 9am. We loaded up and hit the road right around then and made it down to Humboldt for our final Christmas of the season right around 11:30am. The boys were super excited to see all their cousins, and they didn't slow down the entire day!
It has been so nice to finally reach the point where we don't have to watch the brood of kiddos like a hawk and can actually sit down and visit most of the time. This is, by FAR, the most pictures I've taken of the adults in a very, very long time.
Can you tell we have a preschool teacher in our midst? ;) My sister is so great at keeping the kids entertained when they start getting a little overly-crazy.
Also, Uncle Michael takes the term "gamer" to a different level.
This is the crazy gifting part of it all...and this is just one gift per kid!
FIFTEEN grandkids for my dear, sweet mama :) (Baby Johnson will make sixteen!) How she even keeps them all straight, I have no clue!
We had such a great time catching up with our special Ropte and Vinsand family, and as far as "crazy Ropte GTG" insanity goes, I'd say this was by far the most flat out enjoyable (as opposed to mostly insane with a few words in here and there with the adults.
That being said...we were just plain shot by the time we reached time to go home, and the boys (who hadn't napped at all) conked out within minutes of being strapped into their car seats and slept a straight 12 hours that night.
We truly had a wonderful Christmas, and we thoroughly enjoyed each celebration, but by the time we got home, we were all just absolutely wiped out! We're alright with Christmas being another year away ;)
