Christmas 2015 Part 2

I left off with our Christmas Day trip to Plymouth to celebrate with Mark's Mom's side of the family. The next morning we had a little more spare time, although we'd gotten about 6 or so inches of fresh snow overnight, so Mark spent much of the morning having a date with the snow blower, as well as getting our extra one ready for a friend of ours who has a much larger driveway than us and no snow blower. The boys were totally enthralled!

The boys and I got ready and ran some errands around town, then loaded up in the car and headed down to Worthington for Christmas #3 at Mark's Dad and Pam's.

Christmas in Worthington
We had a yummy lunch of bbq pulled pork sandwiches, Grandma Vi's special "Christmas Crunch" salad, chips and baked beans, with some yummy cheesecake for dessert. It was so fun to catch up a bit, even if we do see these guys pretty often ;)

The boys were completely thrilled with their gifts from Grandpa and Grandma this year! Cashel had been talking about this Thomas train that does tricks, and Kendrick, as always, was overjoyed for a new tractor to play with.

Great Grandma Vi stopped over for a while after we ate, and we so enjoyed visiting with her :) I took Cashel shopping for people a couple different times, coming away skunked as far as gifts go (and slightly upset because he didn't get anything HE wanted), but the one and only person he DID pick out a gift for was Great Grandma Vi. We were walking out of ShopKo one day, and he saw this bucket of toiletries and said he really wanted to get this for Grandma Vi for Christmas: Melt my mama heart!

Thanks so much for hosting this year, guys!

The group pictures didn't turn out quite as anticipated this year, but do they ever with kids at this age? haha

Christmas at Home
We made our way home around 4:30pm, knowing that it would be our only evening of the break just the four of us alone at the house, and as expected, the boys were out mere minutes after being strapped in the car for the drive home.

The ended up continuing their naps until 6pm, although Kendrick was so over-tired, that he didn't nap well unless I was holding him. (This mama didn't mind) ;)

Mark went to blow snow at his Mom's house for a bit, then we woke the boys up for supper and to have our own little Christmas together, just the four of us. Kendrick was totally not up for it (can we say "too much Christmas"?), but they both came around to opening gifts after a short while.

We had been opening gifts over the course of the past few days, so the only new ones the boys opened at this point were their fun costumes (a firefighter for Cashel and Marshall from Paw Patrol for Kendrick), a few games for Cashel, a smaller tractor set for Kendrick, and a couple books.

Mark got a new shirt from the boys, a cologne set from me, and we got Ticket to Ride as a family game. Mark and the boys got me a really awesome storage bench for the front entryway, which I've been wanting for years!

We had a great time together, even if it was just a short bit of time. We finished up some leftovers, then got to bed as early as possible, as we had one more big Christmas in store for us the next day.
