Lately in Windom (September 2017)

These two are so, so sweet :) Cashel is regularly saying, "Kinsley needs her Cashel time"

I just love, love, love this sweet snuggle time with my little lady :)

Most of our lazy week days :)

I keep doing this to myself. I forget that it's one heck of a hassle to take our kids on a walk anywhere, and then I do it anyway, and then this happens every.single.time. They all want to ride their bikes down to the park, and then they never want to ride them back. Mark and/or I end up carrying the bikes while they walk first at a snail's pace, and then run on way ahead of us where we can't catch them. There is a lot of waiting, and then yelling, and then screaming, "Cashel!!!!!! Kendrick!!!!! STOP!!!!!!!!! STOP!! CAR!!!!! GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD!!!" Over. And over. And over.

So...we got these new windows, which I seriously LOVE! Except what I didn't count on was that the windows are way too easy to open now, and so are the screens. It's kinda a safety hazard, and we're trying to decide right now what we're going to do about it. For a fire, we'd want the boys to be able to open their bedroom windows and get out. But...otherwise, we don't want them to get out. Alarms, perhaps??

These big brothers just adore sweet Kinsley. They cannot wait for her to get just a wee bit older.

Ryan's first time holding baby sister lasted all of about 5 seconds :)

We NEED to do this more often. Date night!!

Weekends look a lot like this most of the time. Big brothers are off doing a variety of things (coloring, puzzles, tablet time, playing tractors), and the little ones are snuggling Mama in the recliner.

It kills me that Kendrick is off to preschool now. It's just 2 days a week for a couple hours in the mornings, but I honestly think he'd be ready to go every morning for those 2 hours. He loves it!

First days!

I don't, but I really could sit and stare at my sleeping babies all day long.

And seriously...baby yawns just melt my heart!

Daddy and his little girl :)

If I thought this kid had a personality before, it is ten times greater now! I am chuckling just thinking about what is going to happen when he starts talking more. His favorite phrases right now are, "Go, go, go, go" and "diggle, diggle, diggle, diggle"

Cashel loves to fly kites: Kendrick is not as big a fan.

Cashel has been really worked up about not having a butterfly net to capture butterflies. Well, apparently he found a slow one and caught it with his bare hands!

This kid really loves bunnies! Fortunately for him, they had them to hold at the Reinbows Kids' Rodeo event. Unfortunately for us, this led to him REALLY wanting to capture one in our backyard, which led to some broken lattice under our deck.

Pretty much every attempt at getting a picture with just the kids.

It's hard for me to grasp the part where Ryan is now 18 months old. He was JUST my little baby!

I bought these adorable rain jackets this past Spring for what was going to be a very rainy weekend. It ended up not raining the whole weekend, so this was their debut.

This kid was TERRIFIED of the turkey at King Turkey Day. He didn't eat a bite of his breakfast, he was so scared :(

When you have four kids under the age of six, you NEED a Grandma Pam and Aunt Jess.

You also desperately need a good baby carrier/wrap.

Ryan has a little stinker face when he's doing something silly ;)

I just had to do this one! Kendrick had no idea the turkey was there. He had known, he would've jumped out of skin!

Why is it that the best smiles always end up being in the pictures that get cut off?

Cashel seriously adores his little brother :)

We're going to have to watch out for this one...oh boy!

Cashel ended up stuffing the turkey puppet with his parade candy lol

These kids are master parade-goers. Oy!

Her personality is just starting to come out :)

We apparently needed 3 wagons this year for pumpkins and apples :)

This kid!

Gotta take the time to give sissy some hugs and kisses :)

My heart :)

First night of AWANA for the year!

We went out on a limb and hired our first Care.com babysitter and went out for dinner on our 11 year anniversary! We intended to go to Bergen, but the line was all the way to the road, so we opted for Duffy's instead. It has been an excruciatingly difficult year for us this year. I still need to do a full on post about what has been going on, but it's hard to find the time, and when I find the time, it's hard to find the words. We're still waiting for answers...or rather, I am. He doesn't realize anything is going on. I'll just say that celebrating this anniversary felt a heck of a lot less like celebrating us and a lot more like celebrating the fact that we've made it this far. I am crossing my fingers and praying that this coming year - year 12 - is the rainbow after the storm for us!

This little guy had his 18 month checkup and is in the 80th percentile all around!

This brave kid had two days in a row of Dr. appointments: The first was his allergist appointment in which we determined that nothing has changed from his last one, but we got loaded up with Epi pen prescriptions and coupons. The next day was for his 4 year well child check and he's in the 95th percentile across the board. Forgot my phone to get a pic of that one.

I made it back to visit my Mama at the care center again this month. It's SO HARD to see her slowly declining like she is :( I love her so dearly. She doesn't make a lot of sense these days, and you can barely hear her when she tries to talk. Mostly, I just go and bring her photo books, read to her, sing songs, and show her pictures. She lights up and speaks pretty clearly when you bring a baby, though haha :)

A typical Saturday morning at our house. Someone is usually without pants on account of having wet through their diaper or pull up, and they all just swarm around each other watching Saturday morning cartoons while I make breakfast.

Mark and I LOVE Saturday morning breakfast. We always do something hearty, but this past month, I've perfected Swedish pancakes, and Mark and I are LOVING them! The boys, however...they could do without, so I've started making them turkey smoked sausages, and it's a win-win!

Cashel is sporting a mohawk currently lol I was doing his haircut last week, and jokingly gave him one, and he said he wanted to keep it, so it stays. The perfectionist in me wants to shave it SO BADLY, but I've been working really hard this past year on letting go and letting the boys express themselves, so wardrobes and hairstyles are going to be (within reason) out of my control. Kendrick is going to get one this coming week before crazy hair day at AWANA, and then they'll both get legit haircuts before our family pictures on the 14th :)

When you go to a corn pit with a big sign that says, "do not put your head in the corn", it's only wrong if it's your WHOLE head, right? I mean..if you just put your face in it, it's okay, right? #ThisKid #NoItsNotAlright

We had a really fun time at the Terrace View Harvest Festival! I even took Ryan through this giant inflatable maze. Granted, at $9 per person to get in, I didn't think it was necessarily worth the money, but we did have fun.

This kid with his smile and smiley eyes could totally be a little model. I may just be biased, though?

Do NOT remove this kiddo from the tractor!

Backstory: We had to pay extra to do this pumpkin launch. We got one bucket and let each of the big boys do 3 pumpkins each. Cashel threw a holy fit after the fact because he thought he would just get to do as many pumpkins as he wanted to, and Daddy (HOW DARE HIM!) helped Cashel launch them. Cashel was cranky the entire rest of the day because Daddy apparently won't let him be a "big kid", and treats him like a "baby". We're now, apparently, no longer allowed to refer to him as anything else. #DulyNoted

Where would we be without Aunt Jess and Grandma Pam? These two are SUCH a huge help to us!

Pumpkin #1

Pumpkin #2

Pumpkin #3

Pumpkin #4...Still haven't gotten that one yet.
