Caleb's 3rd Birthday Party (April 22)

Caleb celebrated his 3rd birthday on April 18, but we celebrated at his party 4 days later on the 22nd down at the farm in Humboldt.

Caleb's 3rd Birthday Party (April 22)

Caleb Michael turned 3 years old on April 18th, and we had a great time celebrating with him the following Sunday afternoon, the 22nd at his Curious George birthday party. We enjoyed having almost all the Ropte family in town (minus our Indiana Roptes, sadly), as well as Grandma LeAnn.

Amanda had these adorable monkey and fire truck cookies made at Larita's in Fort Dodge, and then she made some INCREDIBLE cupcakes as well. It was simple, but delicious!

Once the official festivities had died down, the kids enjoyed hanging out outside for the rest of the afternoon, and checking out Caleb's new electronic cop car. Later on, we had a few more snuggles before we hit the road to head home.

You are such a joy and a blessing in our lives, little man :) We're so glad we were able to celebrate your big day with you :) We love you!

Catching up with Friends (April 21)

We were able to catch up with our friends, the Walerius's and Larsen's, over lunch at Perkin's on Saturday the 21st. If you recall, Joel and Erin Walerius moved to Marshall back in mid-November, so it was nice to get a chance to catch up with them and see how they were doing. Erin is due with their first child together in mid-August, and she was just beginning to show, so it was fun to reminisce about pregnancy stuff with her as well :)

We have just been getting to know Josh and AiWen Larsen more over the past year, which has been so nice :) Josh, Joel and Mark played softball for First Baptist in Worthington the past couple summers, and Josh and AiWen were married just this past summer. We look forward to getting to know them even more!

Belated Easter in Plymouth (April 15)

Since we were out of town during Easter weekend, we gathered with Mark's Mom's side of the family up in Plymouth at his Aunt Sharon and Uncle Ron's home there. We had a total of 11 adults and the 2 kiddos for the day.

We had a delicious potluck-style meal, including some of the following delicacies, which tasted as good as they looked!

Relaxing Afternoon Activities

Surprisingly, we didn't end up playing any games this visit, but rather sat around much of the afternoon visiting. The ladies ended up going for a walk, and the boys just hung out.

Going for a Walk

The ladies decided to go for a walk, and it was really beautiful outside until it started raining on the way back.

In fact, on the way home, we hit some pretty major rain! It got to be pretty crazy, and the skies began to look like this:

But after the worst of it passed (while we were hiding out at Target in Shakopee), it cleared up and we saw this :)

We had a great time catching up with everyone, and although we were coming off a crazy previous week and a half on vacation, Cashel did great traveling once again. Thanks again for hosing, Sharon and Ron! We had a wonderful time!
