"Christmas" in Humboldt (December 29-31)

Christmas in Humboldt was the weekend after Christmas this year. We headed down a little earlier than usual since we had to take Friday off as our daycare provider was taking a vacation day then. So we went down Friday mid-morning and enjoyed a relaxing day with the family before the festivities formally began the next day.

Literally within minutes of pulling in, we were suited up and on our way out to play in the snow with cousins Caleb and Kaleigh. It was Cashel's first real exposure to the snow, and we're still not sure he knew what to make of it.

After the fun in the snow, we headed inside to warm up. We had some supper a bit later (thanks, Amanda) and then while the ladies stayed in with the kiddos, Mark, Michael and Jason headed to game night at the Lauger's home.

Day Two: Everyone Arrives
The next morning we were up fairy early (as is the case when you have kids, it seems), and I spent much of the morning just keeping Cashel out of trouble. He figured out the stairs early on, and also took a liking to Kaleigh's little baby buggy that was pretty tipsy.

Dave, Elicia and family arrived around noon, and before we knew it, we were being overrun by the kiddos, but they were having a great time, so it was fun :)

I had a few errands to run in Fort Dodge, and I picked up Little Caesar's on the way home for supper.

After that, however, it turned into a crazy madhouse! lol

That is...until everyone finally crashed :)

Day Three: Christmas with the Family
The next morning, we woke to find these views outside :)

It was a busy busy morning in the house with such a big house full! The kids kept themselves entertained very well :)

Before we knew it, it was time to start opening gifts!

We made our way home shortly after the gifts to try to get a couple days of normalcy out of our long break (we had been on the go for so many days leading up to Ropte Christmas that we were wiped!)

We had such a great weekend in Humboldt and enjoyed our time with family!
