Lately in Kato (October 2021)

Fascinating discovery on one of my massage thearpists' walls.

I'm not sure why I spent SO many years NOT french braiding my hair...

Ocheda with friends!

8 Years Difference!

The kids LOVE picking apples!

My sweet little lady ♥

It got kinda gross and rainy and super muddy by the time we were done, but eh - always memorable anyways, right?

Definitely memorable when it comes to our after plans of Panda House!

The orchard was a little too chaotic for us big kids to get many pictures lol

A serious pic with Grandpa Kent

Ryan was so obviously amsued lol

Breaking the house in!

Once our quarantine was over and the kids were back to school, I began the month long process of pack one day, move the next, which repeated every week day until almost November!

When your kid takes your camera lol

I get the impression that the idyllic beautiful yard full of leaves feeling is going to wane quickly with this house lol It was so fun to start, but man...I swear it was twice every week for about a month.

On the rare days I wasn't moving, I was catching up with friends!

I was also working on my fitness with Taunya as I was able. I was thrilled with the progress on my love handles for sure, but always more work to go!

#Moving

Very slowly starting to look like home!

As hard as it is to embrace this, I've found that in my life to be very true. Trust in the Lord and then get up and do the things!

Our stuff moved before we did, so we had quite an empty home for a few weeks!

Kato Moving - HIGHLY recommended!

Our makeshift living room for a few weeks!

Meanwhile at the new place

One of my absolute FAVORITE places in the new house is actually not IN the house. I am SO EXCITED for spring!!!

I also absolutely love our sunroom, but for solidly half of the year or more, it's not really feasible to hang out there, as it has no heat or a/c (which I plan to remedy in 2022) and is therefore COLD or HOT much of the year.

Anyone who knows me is giggling lol

The moving process just takes a really long time ::sigh::

So thankful for Taunya being so awesome to work with! She didn't kill me, although there wre definitely times when I thought she might!

"Farewell to Anger" by Leonid Afremov is definitely a fitting piece for our new home! FTD and all the horrendous changes and loss and grief it brought to our family feels pushed aside and made anew. The anger and guilt and frustration and all the hard feelings have gone

I feel like "charcuterie month" is a fitting title for the month, as I had a LOT of charcuterie boards lol I started with this one on my weekend without kids as a pre-40th celebration with my friend Jill!

We had an awesome time at Chankaska Winery

Upon moving in, it was very, very evident that I immediately was going to need to replace ALL the toilets in the house. They were SO SHORT and SO SMALL! So on our girls' day, we stopped at Mendards and picked up 2 of them lol I initally thought maybe I'd just install them myself, as I knew how, but then I thought about all the ramifications if I messed it up, and thought I'd better just NOT do that lol

I was finally able to have some friends over for dinner in the new house, even if it wasn't even sort of remotely put together. I am SO looking forward to entertaining in our new home!

The woods behind our home is just BEAUTIFUL! We see wildlife all the time, including deer! You can see the one pretty obviously on the left here, but can you find the other one?

Like I said...charcuterie month! lol

This month began my 6 week long journey to get the home fixed up and listed! I am SO far beyond thankful that Mark taught me all about how to use the tools he left behind. I may not be perfect at it, but I'm not half bad!

Of course, remembering to bring the right tools at the right time proved more difficult than doing the hard work lol I replaced the baseboards throughout the house to match those in the entryway and bathrooms that had been remodeled a year and a half prior.

I snuck away down to my college alma mater to visit with my dear friend B from high school days. It was such a great day!!

I snuck in another lunch with these friends as well! It was good to start seeing friends again after so many years of pure chaos and not much time for much else.

Looking back, I forgot how awful the color in the living room was! I painted all hte walls in the main living areas with Revere Pewter (which you cna see in the kitchen and trim surrounding the yellowish stuff on the tv wall), and I LOVE it! I plan to paint some of the new house with those hues as well!

It was hard to be gone during the week, but the weekends were so wonderful to be able to sleep in our own beds in our new home!

Our first legit breakfast at the new house!

Welcome home!

We love this park! What a gorgeous fall it was, and we were so thankful to be mostly moved in before it was over!

Kinsley is still working through her fear of going too fast, which means braking every other time pedaling forward. Let's just say there is quite a gap between the boys and us ladies on walks.

I may be biased, but I think she's the most beautiful little girl in the whole wide world!

A lot of people asked why, when we could move ANYWHERE, we opted to stay in Minnesota. I bring you exhibit A: The view less than a mile from our home, not too far from our own back yard! #NoFilterNeeded

We have SO many leaves in our front yard! At this point, we're super excited about that!

If you give a preschooler a buffet, he's going to eat pudding and pickles lol

The Children's Museum at Washington Pavillion was a HUGE hit for the kiddos!

Zoo Boo was also a lot of fun, even if the kids weren't super thrilled with how little candy they got.

I was never the kind of person who ever cared whatsoever the gender of my kiddos. After the third boy, I was MORE than okay with closing up shop. But seriously...I feel like as much as I was absolutely 100% meant to be a boy Mom, I am pretty darn good at being a girl Mom as well. She is simply my favorite girl ever that could have existed in the whole entire world.

Cashel's favorite part of Air Madness

Meanwhile in dodge ball land, Kendrick was cleaning house lol

This show drives me nuts sometimes, but it sure entertains the littles!

There are times when your kids are well behaved and calm and enjoyable to be around. And then there are times like this. Oy! We had family over to the vrbo we rented on our little getaway to Sioux Falls so we could celebrate Mark's Dad's birthday, and you'd think I had brought a bunch of gigantic rabid animals with me. Holy mylanta! Never before or after had they been so poorly behaved, but I guess sometimes you've gotta take a giant dose of humility, huh?

I have discovered the sauna pod! Also, this massage chair is off the hook, guys! It's SO amazing!!

One of my favorite parts of our new home is the ease at which we can have a bonfire! At our old house, we had to go through the entire house to get downstairs to the lower level, and then any of the flat areas it would be ideal to have a bonfire were actually under our upper deck, which is kinda a fire hazard, so it was always so stressful, and the kids didn't have good space to run around, so it was overall just a lot of dang work! Here, it's easy, the kitchen is just inside the door, and the kids can run around all over the yard or in and out of the house, and it's just easy and peaceful!

A month into our new house, and although I anticipated things would begin to go eventually, I wasn't expecting the water softener to kick the bucket quite so soon. Alas, it was time for a replacement!

I'm going to be honest and say that the past few studies I've done have just not been what I needed at the time. A few years back, it didn't seem to matter which study I picked up, they all spoke deeply into my soul. This one in particular, I felt like I was pushing a large rock up a steep cliff with no end in sight. This one was just NOT for me.

My beautiful girl and I ♥

We started our fun date days on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and it was so great! This particular one was our first after the big move, and it did not disappoint! We had Noodles and Company for lunch and then

We also went to get pedicures - Kinsley's first time ever!

Pumpkin carving is one of our favorite traditions every year!

Our girl time is always such a blast!

"Happy" 40th to me! The cake was good, even if the candles look a little crazy!

It was obviously loads of fun lol

How on earth is he such a giant manchild?

We made a trip down to Worthington to have some fun with friends there. The kids assured me they brought their costumes, but alas...they did not. We had some random stuff left behind at our old home, so we swung by to see what we could find, and this is what we came up with lol A skater boy, a business man, a soccer player nad a unicorn princess.

I'm not sure Arby's will have us back again lol

Our first time trick or treating in our new neighborhood! The kids had a BLAST, and it was the perfect night out for it!

Slowly making our house a home! I LOVED my curtain choice, even if they needed to be steamed lol
