I started off the month with TWO colds, spanning until mid-February, but thankfully didn't pass those ones along to the rest of my family. However, I finished the month with another cold, and Kendrick caught it this time, and Cashel is working once again on those darn molars, so an ear infection has him down. We're crossing our fingers and praying that March brings MUCH warmer weather and wellness!
We had fun spending lots of time together with the Superbowl and Valentine's Day as a family, and with a nice overnight in Sioux Falls as a couple for Mark and I. We also took a short overnight trip down to Humboldt to celebrate my Mom's birthday at the end of the month.
Enjoy a few recaps below :)
Superbowl Sunday (February 2)
Superbowl Sunday was pretty low-key for us this year. We made hot chicken legs with celery and ranch/blue cheese and just relaxed at home together.Click here for a full recap with pictures!
Overnight in Sioux Falls...By Ourselves! (February 7-8)
Mark and I left the boys overnight with Mark's Dad and Pam and had a little getaway to Sioux Falls. We were unfortunately sick the whole time, but we enjoyed relaxing without responsibilities.

Valentine's Day (February 14)
We had a low-key Valentine's Day together at home after busy days at work and daycare. I made homemade enchiladas and a strawberry trifle for dessert. We opened gifts and cards, but after that, the night was pretty regular :)

Afternoon in Worthington (February 15)
After meeting baby Lincoln, we spent the day split between visiting with Uncle Dean, Aunt Barb and Grandma Vi and had a nice pizza dinner with Mark's Dad and Pam and Jess.

Humboldt for Mom's Birthday (February 23)
We were thrilled to finally get the chance to make it down to Humboldt to see my family down there, and to help celebrate my Mom's birthday! We hadn't been down there since the weekend after Christmas, which was almost TWO months! Click here for a full recap with pictures!
Looking Ahead...
I have mixed feelings about the next month or two. Part of me is GIDDY about the beautiful weather to come, but I also know that it means planting season is right around the corner, and we sure do miss Mark when he's gone in the evenings. We finally settled on a double stroller (after spending WAY too much time researching), so hopefully the boys will cooperate and both allow themselves to be strapped in for me so I can take them on some nice walks in the evenings while Mark is at the farm helping out. It should arrive TODAY, so I'm anxious to take it out for a test run this weekend when it supposedly is supposed to hit 45 on Sunday! We don't really have too much on the agenda, although we're EXCITED about all the babies due to arrive in March! We have two sets of friends (the Studes and Breukers) who are expecting, and our FIRST JOHNSON NEPHEW is slated to arrive near the middle of the month (Sarah and Johannes are expecting a baby boy any day now!) We would ideally like to make a trip down to meet him shortly after he is born, but we're not sure how that would go with 2 little guys in tow, so we'll just have to see how that goes. Maybe we could try to make a weekend out of it and hit up the Zoo.
We're planning a day trip to Humboldt in mid-March for a double birthday party for my niece and nephew, and a baby shower the day prior for our friend's little boy.
We are also planning to have a nice Easter gathering at our house with Mark's Mom's side of the family (it has been almost two years since we saw them last), so that should be fun...and crazy, what with 4 little boys under the age of 3...but mostly fun :) Thankfully, it should be nicer out and we can get the boys outside, we hope!
Until next month... :)
