Easter in Windom (April 20)

We had a fun celebration with Mark's extended family on his Mom's side at our home for Easter this year.

After digging into Easter baskets and attending the beautiful Easter service at church, we made our way home to welcome the family for dinner. The guests started arriving shortly after noon, and the kitchen was busy!

The guys were super busy in the living room as well...

It wasn't long before it was time to fill our plates and eat! Mark read some scriptures about the Resurrection and prayed for the meal, and then we enjoyed a delicious meal together!

It was SO gorgeous out, and the outside tables and chairs were filled quickly!

I enjoyed a few stolen moments of peace and quiet while feeding Kendrick, but on the whole, it was a loud, crazy, FUN day!

The guys headed outside to play with the kiddos while us ladies visited. I tried to work quickly to prep for a small informal baby shower while all the aunts (and Grandma Diane) gushed over little Johannes III :)

The bunny cake Aunt Sharon made was a big hit with these two little guys, as were the adorable little "carrots" that Meghan made with candy in them :)

Kendrick was working hard to please his Great Aunts :)

Baby Shower Time!
The guys ended up coming in from outside just before the shower started, as the neighbor had started mowing, and the grass clippings were flying all up in the air.

Cousin Kelly got the privilege of holding baby Johannes III during the shower, and he seemed right at home with her :)

Baby Johannes III got some adorable clothes, a couple Boppies, a fun diaper cake, some wall art, and a few items we hadn't seen as they had been sent beforehand. It may have been a little less formal this time around, but it was still fun to shower baby Johannes III with some fun gifts :)

The boy "Johnson" cousins and their sons.

I was super impressed with these two little guys, who were SO well-behaved in spite of the fact that they hardly got naps. I'd like to think my two little ones would be so well-behaved in those circumstances, but the likelihood is that they probably wouldn't be.

Cashel was SUPER concerned about what Mama was doing downstairs. (Psst...I was taking a family picture of cousin Mark and his family).

Most of the guests took off around 4pm to head home, but Roger, Cathy and Brad stuck around a bit longer to get a couple games of 500 in - a Johnson gathering staple.

It truly was a lovely day, and it had been too long since we had gathered together last. We missed those who couldn't join us (Daniel/Iryna/Sofie, Mary/Joe and Brian). Hopefully we don't end up going another two years before seeing everyone again.
