After a pretty busy August, we were thrilled to have Labor Day Weekend sneak up on us this year. We decided the two afternoons prior to the weekend, we were going to take advantage of a little extra vacation time we had stashed away and take some time off. We enjoyed a couple peaceful, relaxing afternoons, with lunch at Bergen the one afternoon, then a nice, leisurely walk together. And a nap. (It's amazing what you can squeeze into 3 hours without kids.)
By the time naps rolled around on Saturday, Mark and I decided it was time to get out of the house for a bit. We had a few things on our Walmart list, so we loaded the kids up to head down to Worthington. We went to a local park, then go to Pizza Ranch for supper before heading over to Grandpa and Grandma's to hang out.
At the park, Cashel made a new friend: an ant named "Anty". Kendrick apparently also decided that a little girl playing with him was now his girlfriend, and after careful consideration, he decided her name was "Mya". He told us that Mya was coming to Pizza Ranch with us.
I dropped all the boys off at Grandpa and Grandma's before heading to Walmart to pick up a few things we needed, although I had to be quick, since Grandpa asked if the boys wanted to go for a tractor ride! (insert ALLLL the exclamation marks in Kendrick's world haha)
It was a little bit later of a night getting to bed, but we figured with the holiday weekend, we would catch up on sleep soon enough.
The boys were being really sweet on Sunday before church, and we sat around reading books for a bit before we went to church.
They were a tinge squirrley during the sermon and all, so after church we decided the park was probably a good idea to burn off some of that energy. We went to McDonald's for lunch, then went on off to "Lake Park". The boys LOVE this swing.
Ryan and I decided to go for a little walk on this GORGEOUS day, so we made our way around the park.
The other boys joined me after a bit, so I kept them busy and out of trouble by having them pick up sticks.
After the park, we were all a little tuckered. Naps are becoming a thing of the past, but we still need some time to rest, so Cashel and Ryan joined me for a rest to watch a movie.
This little guy was on the verge of crawling all weekend long, and was just super happy and adorable :)
Mark's Mom stopped over with the foreign exchange student she is hosting from Germany this school year around supper time, so we visited with them for a little bit before bed time.
We didn't end up doing a whole lot on Monday. We were busy just playing catch up from a weekend of being a little more lazy. We had mountains of laundry to catch up on, and a house that looked like a bomb went off after a holiday weekend with two little tornadoes in the house ;)
